Industry 5.0? buzzwords !!!!

Writer: Partha BharadwajPartha Bharadwaj

#Industry 5.0 is a new production model that focuses on the interaction between humans and machines. #Industry5.0 seeks to add #human, #environmental, and #social aspects back into the equation. The adoption of Industry 5.0 practices will promote the economic performance of industries while ensuring environmental #sustainability. It might place an even stronger emphasis on the role of human #workers in #manufacturing. This can involve the use of advanced human-machine collaboration and technologies designed to enhance the capabilities and well-being of human workers. This concept can be characterized by normally

  • People working alongside robots and smart machines & Robots helping humans work better and faster

  • Leveraging more advanced technologies like the Internet of Things (IoT) and big data

  • Adding a personal human touch to the Industry 4.0 pillars of automation and efficiency and also the return of manpower to factories

  • Distributed production and Intelligent supply chains/

  • Hyper customization

  • Added resilience and sustainability goals

Industry 5.0 reflects a shift from a focus on economic value to a focus on societal value, and a shift in focus from welfare to well-being --  by Jeroen Kraaijenbrink

Industry 5.0 might incorporate a heightened focus on sustainability and environmental considerations, with advanced technologies and practices aimed at reducing the environmental footprint of manufacturing processes. It could also address challenges related to globalization and supply chain resilience, possibly leveraging advanced technologies like blockchain and distributed manufacturing to create more agile and robust supply chains. Involvement of more advanced applications of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and robotics in manufacturing, with a focus on achieving greater efficiency, flexibility, and customization.

There is an increased emphasis on ethical and social considerations in manufacturing, such as ethical AI, fair labour practices, and responsible use of technology. Given the increasing reliance on data and connectivity, Industry 5.0 might place a stronger emphasis on cybersecurity and data privacy to protect critical manufacturing systems and sensitive information.

The previous tier, #Industry 4.0, emerged with the arrival of automation technologies, IoT, and the smart factory
